Amanda McInerney is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York and serves as a Clinical Supervisor. Amanda has extensive experience providing individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood dysregulation, trauma, generational trauma, suicidality, and self-harm.
Amanda creates a compassionate and safe space for people to share and process emotions. Their work integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, strengths-based therapy, solution-focused therapy, and Family Systems Therapy.
Amanda works collaboratively with each individual to explore which approaches may be most beneficial and to work toward mental health goals. They also advocate for clients within school and family systems as needed.
Amanda is working toward Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional certification and engages clients in exposure therapy and coping-skill building to support confidence. Their work with children and adolescents has reinforced the value of safe, confidential space for discussing mental health and interpersonal challenges.
Amanda earned a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine. Their background in behavioral medicine informs work with behavior charts, neuroscience-based psychoeducation, and preventative care.
